Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, we store only a one-way hash of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google; we do not get your Google password.
• Sign-in sessions: when you sign in we record the time and your browser’s description (for example “Chrome on Android”) so you stay signed in and old sessions can be ended.
• Your media: the video you upload, the audio track your browser extracts from it for transcription, a small preview picture taken from it, and the transcripts, translations, subtitles, styles and exports you create.
• Purchases: the pack you bought, the amount, the payment method type (wallet or bank), the payment reference and its status, your credit balance and a history of credits added and used.
• Feedback: ratings, messages and bug reports you send us, with the page you sent them from.
• Technical data: server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, used to keep the service running and to block abuse.

When you export a video with subtitles burned in, our cloud rendering servers usually make it from the copy of your video saved in your library, so it is fast on any phone or computer. To start exports quickly, that copy is also kept in our cloud storage for as long as your library keeps it, and deleted with it. It is used only to make your exports. The finished video is kept in our cloud storage for one day so you can download it, and in your library for the usual time. If the copy in your library is not available, or your captions use a font you uploaded, the export is made in your browser instead.

Some things stay on your device and are never sent to us: any fonts you upload for your captions, and the live preview in the editor. Your browser also keeps a local copy of your recent videos and drafts so the editor opens quickly.

• To provide the service: transcribing and translating your media, saving your projects and exports, and keeping your credit balance.
• To process payments and send you receipts and invoices.
• To send emails about your account, such as sign-up verification codes, password-reset codes and purchase invoices. We do not send marketing emails.
• To answer your feedback and support requests.
• To keep LipiSub secure: limiting repeated sign-in attempts, preventing abuse and fixing errors.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not show you ads, and we do not use your videos, audio or subtitles to train AI models.

We share data only with service providers that help us run LipiSub, and only what each one needs:

• AI processing: the extracted audio is sent to an AI speech-recognition service to produce the transcript, and the transcript text is sent to an AI language service to correct it and to translate it. Text you convert with “Type Nepali” is sent to a transliteration service. These services process the data to return the result to us.
• Payments: licensed payment partners in Nepal process your payment, through eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay or bank QR (NepalPay). You pay on their screens or in your own banking app, so we never see your wallet PIN, card number or bank login.
• Email: an email delivery service sends our account and invoice emails, and passes the feedback you send to our team.
• Hosting: hosting, storage and cloud computing providers run our website, servers and database, and the servers that render your exported videos.
• Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”, to sign you in. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts.

Some of these providers are outside Nepal, so your data may be processed in other countries. Authorised Blackfire A.I staff can see account, purchase and feedback records to support you and to handle payments. We may also disclose information if Nepali law requires it.

LipiSub does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. We use your browser’s storage only for things the app needs: keeping you signed in, and caching videos, drafts, thumbnails and your uploaded fonts on your device. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings; you will be signed out, and fonts you uploaded will need to be added again.

• Extracted audio: deleted from our server as soon as transcription finishes.
• Cloud exports: the copy of your uploaded video in our cloud storage is deleted along with the one in your library; a finished export is deleted from our cloud storage after one day.
• Uploaded videos and exported videos: deleted automatically 5 days after they are saved.
• Projects, subtitles, styles and preview pictures: kept until you delete the project or your account.
• Verification and reset codes: stored only as a hash and valid for 15 minutes.
• Sign-in sessions: end 30 days after you sign in, or earlier when you sign out.
• Purchase records and invoices: kept for as long as Nepali tax and accounting law requires, even after you close your account.

All traffic to LipiSub is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords, sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as hashes, your projects are private to your account, and payment confirmations are checked with the payment partner before any credits are added. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and fix problems promptly.

You can update your name and password in Settings, and delete any project from your dashboard. You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data, by emailing hello@blackfire.com.np from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days.

LipiSub is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, email hello@blackfire.com.np and we will delete it.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
